What to expect Thursday of Convention!

Welcome to the first day of the 35th OCSEA Biennial Convention! It's so great to be back together again in person and getting down to the business of the union. We will be electing officers and updating the OCSEA Constitution and so much more. But don't forget to have fun while you're here. We have a lot of fun and important events planned, and we hope you can take part in as much as possible.

We encourage you to attend one of this morning's workshops. If you are a new delegate attending convention for the first time, or you need a refresher, we highly recommend that you attend this morning's New Delegate Workshop from 8 a.m.-9:15 a.m. in Union C & D. You can also learn more about the future of work at the Training the Talent of Tomorrow workshop with virtual reality experts, Transfr Ohio. Both workshops are on the 2nd Floor of the Hyatt.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. today on the 2nd Floor Hyatt. General Session starts promptly at 10 a.m. in Battelle Hall, with doors opening at 9 a.m.

We will be joined by special guests Mayor Andrew Ginther and County Commissioner Erica Crawley as they welcome us to Columbus. We will also welcome very special guest, former Ohio governor Richard "Dick" Celeste as we celebrate 40 years of public collective bargaining, the reason why we are all here today! And, of course, we will hear from Pres. Chris Mabe on the State of the Union.

At Noon, we will all gather for the Staff the Front Lines Rally outside at Sensenbrenner Park at the corner of Nationwide Blvd. and N. High streets (SW corner). See below for more information on this important event and why we should all attend.

For those who purchased ticket in advance, the WAC/CMCA Luncheon will be held from 1-2 p.m. with special friend of labor André Washington.

In the afternoon General Session starting at 2:15 p.m., we will welcome guest Tom Juravich, who will talk about the future of labor. Nominations for statewide offices will also take place during the afternoon General Session.

Planning to attend tonight's special event? Look for more information during this morning's General Session.

Don't forget to check out all the informational booths full of so many amazing resources. Check out your convention program page 15 for a list of booths and all events.
